Do independent schools follow the national curriculum?   back to FAQs

Most Independent Schools choose to follow the National Curriculum even though they are not bound to do so. There is no requirement for Independent Schools to set pupils the National Tests used in state schools. Most schools will have their own assessment tests and set formal, internal, examinations at least once each year. Parents should receive a full written report on their children at the end of each term.
