The Infant Department has four classes, averaging 12 children per class, each with a teacher and an assistant. There are large and well equipped classrooms and a spacious, soft-surfaced, infant playground. Whenever weather permits, this area is used as an ‘outdoor classroom’ and is populated with a solid wooden train, a ‘sandpit ship’, ride on toys, a climbing frame, a play house and even an elephant! The older pupils are taught on two sites, the new Jill Sturdy Centre (JSC) at 5 Glisson Road, and our main site at Cherry Hinton Hall. The Sturdy Centre building boasts a new, purpose built Science laboratory and a well lit and airy and bright Art Room and a large Common Room. Students study for a wide range of International GCSE’s including French, German, Spanish, Coordinated or Single Award Sciences, English, History, Geography, RS (Philosophy) Drama, Media Studies, Art, Film Studies, Business Studies and ICT. All the older pupils are encouraged to take part in our Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. We provide a free minibus collection and drop off service from central Cambridge. |
